Congratulations Mr. Raed Jarrar

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous, Moojoos Rants on January 6, 2009 by moojoo

NEW YORK (AFP) – An airline passenger forced to cover his T-shirt because it displayed Arabic script has been awarded 240,000 dollars in compensation, campaigners said Monday.

Raed Jarrar received the pay out on Friday from two US Transportation Security Authority officials and from JetBlue Airways following the August 2006 incident at New York’s JFK Airport, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced.

“The outcome of this case is a victory for free speech and a blow to the discriminatory practice of racial profiling,” said Aden Fine, a lawyer with ACLU.

Jarrar, a US resident, was apprehended as he waited to board a JetBlue flight from New York to Oakland, California, and told to remove his shirt, which had written on it in Arabic: “We will not be silent.”

He was told other passengers felt uncomfortable because an Arabic-inscribed T-shirt in an airport was like “wearing a T-shirt at a bank stating, I am a robber,’” the ACLU said.

Jarrar eventually agreed to cover his shirt with another provided by JetBlue. He was allowed aboard but his seat was changed from the front to the back of the aircraft.

Alhamdulillah!! Finally.  It’s amazing how afraid people are of us and how much they hate us.  The above incident is ridiculous.  I am so happy that he got something for what he went through.  Although you can never put a dollar amount on publically humiliating someone like that, at least the company got punished in the only manner that they understand, in the cheque book.  You know it’s a good thing he didn’t have a rock in his hand otherwise they would have bombed the shit out of him like are doing to us in Palestine.  Israeli’s are claiming that we are the agressors and that we are the ones that are the terrorists.  Our main defensive weapon is the good ol’ rock.  They have all kinds military machinery and equipment and are able to drop one ton bombs on peoples homes and we have rocks.  Yet somehow we are the agressors in the area.  Figure that one out.  I do feel this time however that the world will wake up and see this conflict for what it really is.  Genocide.  This small victory over here by Mr. Jarrar is a step in the right direction.

yup

I am soooooo bored.  So I thought I would come on here and just start typing to see what would happen.  I don’t really have much to say, but I am here and the work New Year is starting just like the old one ended.  Which means I am busy beyond belief.  But that is a good thing, especially these days.  I am very thankful for the job I have and the fact that we are busy.  While others are feeling the crunch of the economy thankfully we haven’t felt it yet and maybe we will get lucky and not be effected by it.

Hmmm.  Let’s see what else can I ramble on about.  I saw Valkyrie two weeks ago.  It was okay.  Not great but not bad either.  Oh, and Tom Cruise didn’t even ruin it!  If you have no other choice, go see it.  It is definitely a DVD rental though.

Hmmm, let’s see what else is there.  Oh ya, some really terrible news.  My aunt and uncle came over on Christmas and I thought, hmmm, she looks a bit bigger than she used to.  Obviously I didn’t say anything, I mean I don’t much about women but I know enough to know not to say hey, you gain some weight there fatty!!  But after they went home I asked my moms and she said no that’s 3aib (rude) don’t you dare ask.  Well Friday comes along and bingo-bango, Moo was right!!  But unfortunately we got terrible news today, there may be complications with the child.  I don’t even know what to say to her.  We are pretty close my auntie and I, she is not that much older than me and for the first  I really don’t know what to say.  What do say really.  There is a really good she could have a miscarriage.  I mean we were picking names over the weekend.  And since I called the pregnancy before anyone else, I got to name the child if it was a boy.  Please pray for her and her child.

In rereading this post that last paragraph doesn’t really seem to fit in but it came out I don’t know.  Please pray for them.  Thanks.

$20M to stay home?, HELLS YEAH!!

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous on July 31, 2008 by moojoo

Brett, oh Brett. Do the right thing.

First you retire so you can spend time at home with your wife and kids. You are still relatively young and have plenty of dough to retire on. Then for some unknown reason you decide that you want to come back. Well people say it’s unknown, but I know the truth: God, my kids are annoying!!

So what do you do, you go back to where you were an absolute hero to try and get your swagger back instead of playing piggy back. They worshiped the ground you walked on in Green Bay. You figured you could go back there and everything would be perfect again. WRONG!!! After years and years of your blood, sweat and tears and never ever missing a day at work they forget about you in a matter of weeks and hire some guy with no experience to do your job. To make things even better, they vilify you in the media because you want to come back and work. After your ex-employer misjudges the public reaction and your true intentions of really just wanting to work again, they have the audacity to offer you $20M to stay away.

Dude, I know, it’s not all about the money and kids can be annoying, but you retired a living legend in good health and have already retired and they are giving you a $20M bonus on top of that.

Don’t be another dumb jock, FUCK THEM and take the sweet, sweet $$$$.

I know I haven’t posted for like a week but it hasn’t been because nothing exciting hasn’t happened or my PC doesn’t work but rather I am so addicted to this online tennis game. If you like tennis and video games then you will love this little online game. You can find it by googling ‘free online tennis game’ and it will be the first one there.

Commercials!!

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous, Moojoos Rants on June 24, 2008 by moojoo

Get Better Commercials!!I have been really disappointed in commercials these days. Most of the commercials these days suck, and I mean SUCK. It’s like they don’t even try anymore.

The main commercial that has pissed me off, is the stupid KIA commercial. If you admit to liking this commercial, I will find you and I will hurt you. It is the shittiest commercial I have ever seen. If I was ever going to buy a KIA, there is no way in hell, I would do it now. Honourable mention however goes to the Swiss Chalet commercial, the one with the ‘kick’. WTF, if I was to kick my dad like that he would have beat my ass so bad, public or not. Honourable mention also goes to the stupid Yellow Pages commercials and every Tim Horton’s commercial ever made.

Things maybe turning around though, a few months ago, Shreddies came out with a great marketing campaign: New Diamond Shreddies. That was fantastic! And now recently, I saw a KFC Commercial for some wrap that cost $1.79. And the dude finishes his wrap and the price thing goes home with him, he plays soccer with it, rough-houses in the park with it, skips along the street with it. Me Likie!

I saw this movie last night. As a Palestinian Muslim I guess I should have been offended by this movie but I thought it was hilarious. If you are a Palestinian or even a Jew and have a sense of humour about your own kind, definitely go see this movie. It’s no Oscar or anything, but still a good time.

I need a new brother, maybe an older one

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous on May 13, 2008 by moojoo

It’s the summertime now, well almost, and don’t get me wrong, I LOVE IT! The only problem is grass grows in the summer and being the oldest in the family means I have to cut it. I thought I had an excellent excuse with my health issues and all, and really they are not just excuses, they are doctors orders. It’s not that I can’t cut grass it’s that I am not supposed to over exert myself and we have a steep hill in our back yard. I had to cut the grass today and I screwed up. I should have checked how wet the grass was at the bottom of lawn. Needless to say it was wet and a job that normally takes like 20 to 25 minutes tops, took me and hour and forty-five minutes. Unreal. And that’s after a long day at work to boot.

I have a younger brother, but I only know that because my parents told me so. I never see the guy, he’s constantly out with his friends. The guy is completely useless, he doesn’t even clean his room or nothing. And it’s not because he’s neat, he’s a slob. He does nothing around the house. Spoiled little brat. I wonder what that feels like, to have to do nothing, have no cares, no responsibilities. One day, just one day, I’d like to know what that feels like.

I just realized my life is boring.

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous on May 12, 2008 by moojoo

My life is so boring. I am 28 years old, single and don’t do anything. I get up, go to work and come home. If I have a ride, I go to gym, if not then I go for a jog or walk at a track near by, but that’s it. It’s not like I don’t wanna have fun or do anything, I love going out, going to movies, live theatre, live music, pretty much live anything really. I just don’t really have anyone to go with. All my friends are either married, nowhere near where I live anymore or work afternoons. I mean it’s got to the point where I almost look forward to going into work so I can have some fun with people as opposed stupid simple PC puzzle games and ‘Stumbling’ around the internet. I just wanna meet someone that I can spend the rest of my life with.

My Return

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous on May 6, 2008 by moojoo

I am new to blogging, a friend of mine introduced me to it a few months ago. She is actually really into it and has one of the most respected blog sites on the interweb, she’s kinda of like a small celebrity. Her site is pretty cool, her posts are so random its great, some days she really makes you laugh and others she makes you really think. She suggested that I should blog too, it would help me relieve some stress. So I made a few posts and to perfectly honest with you, it did, i felt great afterward. So why stop posting you may ask. Well, only one person ever read my post and I talked to her everyday, so no real need to post, I was able to ‘vent’ to her.

Well we stopped talking a few weeks ago. I don’t want to get into details regarding the issue, but before I started again, to vent that is, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t write anything that I would regret later. Anyways, this is my return and time permitting I will post daily or almost daily. People always tell me that I should write a book about my life. Since I highly doubt a publisher is going to give me an advance and allow me to write a book about some loser, this is how I’m gonna give the world a glimpse into the world of Moo.

My Daddy

Posted in MooJoos Miscellaneous on March 17, 2008 by moojoo

My dad celebrated his 65th birthday earlier this year. For 65, the guy was in pretty good shape, he could shovel snow, mow the lawn, wash dishes, run errands, vaccuum and other such chores. Then shortly after his birthday he got sick. This really wasn’t anything new to us. Throughout his entire life he has always battled one illness or another and has always come out on top. Sometimes it has taken a little longer than others, like when he had meningitis, but the point is he always came out on top.

This time he had gall stones in his system, no biggie, but the stones were fairly large and required surgery in order to remove them. So they performed the surgery and the surgery was a success. They put him to sleep and he got out of it without any hitches, thankfully. Well almost, he doesn’t seem to have to an appetite anymore and is so incredibly weak. I have never seen him like this, ever. All of a sudden his legs don’t have the strength to support him any more. When or I guess I should say, if he walks around, he needs help. I need to help him up and he leans on the walls to get to where he needs to go. It’s even to the point where I need to help in and out the washroom and shower.

I always knew my dad was getting older, but for the first time I feel like and he actually looks like he is old. I mean you always think your parents are going to make it through whatever they are going through, I mean they’re your parents, right, they have to.
